The faculty of Social Sciences, Babu Jagjivan Ram GDC has organized a 2-Day National Seminar (Blended Mode) titled on “Socio-Economic Development of Women through Self-Help Groups (SHGs) in India” during 28-29 March 2022. Hon. Sri. Navin Mittal, IAS,  Commissioner of Collegiate Education TS, and Prof. R. Limbadri, Chairman, TSCHE, are the Chief Guests for the programme. Prof.V. Usha Kiran, Director, CSSR-SRC, Hyderabad & Head, Department of Commerce, O.U, Hyderabad, has been assumed as the Key Note Speaker for the programme. Prof.L.C.Mallaiah, Head,  Department of Economics, Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University (A Central University), Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, Prof. I Daisy, Head, Department of Economics, Osmania University, Hyderabad, Prof Dr Prakash Shankar Kamble, Department of Economics, Shivaji University, Kolhapur, Maharashtra, Dr. Shaik Kamruddin, Department of Management Studies, Maulana Azad National Urdu University, Hyderabad, are the distinguished Guests of Honor for the Programme. The seminar received around 125 original research articles presented by Scholars, Students and Academicians. The programme has been supervised by Dr. P. V. Geetha Lakshmi Patnaik, Principal, and is convened by Dr. D. MuniSwamy, Assistant Professor of Economics. Dr. C. Shanthi, Assistant Professor of Political Science is the Organizing Secretary for the event. Teaching Staff and Students of the college have actively participated in the seminar. The seminar has produced several novel ideas referring to SHGs.
