BEST PRACTICES

ENERGY CONSERVATION:

Energy conservation is an effort made to reduce the consumption of energy by using less of an energy service. This can be achieved by using energy more efficiently or by reducing the amount of service used. Energy conservation is a part of the concept of Eco-sufficiency. Energy conservation measures (ECMs) in buildings reduce the need for energy services and can result in increased environmental quality, national security, personal financial security and higher savings. It is at the top of the sustainable energy hierarchy. It also lowers energy costs by preventing future resource depletion. Energy can be conserved by reducing wastage and losses, improving efficiency through technological upgrades, and improved operation and maintenance. Energy conservation is a part of the concept of efficiency.

Conservation of electricity:

Electricity is a form of energy which we utilize every day in our day to day life. The invention of a transformer had brought a significant change in transferring electricity to distant places at ease that too with much loss of energy. Conservation of electricity is also important for sustainability. Energy conservation makes sense environmentally and financially.

Solar Energy

Solar energy is one of the best methods of extracting electrical energy. This is a vast source of energy, but the practical methods used for the conversion of solar energy to electrical energy are less efficient.  Scientists are working on that to increase its efficiency. Solar energy is available all over the world irrespective of the geographical locations, except the areas surrounding the north poles and the south poles. In Asian countries like India, solar energy is available almost throughout the year. Solar energy can be converted into electrical energy by using solar panels
