ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT:

The Department of Biotechnology has been established  in the year 2019 with three combinations -Bt.B.Z (Biotechnology .Botany. Zoology) Bt.B.C (Biotechnology. Botany. Chemistry), Bt.Z.C (Biotechnology. Zoology. Chemistry) . The Department introduced certificate on Cell Designer in collaboration with Spoken Tutorials IIT Bombay.

Vision :

  • To establish platform for dissemination and creation of knowledge in Biotechnology through  education , exploration, experimentation and generate graduates with ethics and values.

Mission:

  • To create an innovative, creative study environment to the students.
  • To train the student to excel in both practical and theoretical aspects of Biotechnology
  • Motivate and guide the students to develop new techniques in Biotechnology.
  • Elementary knowledge in clinical, genetical, immunological, biochemical techniques for the graduates.

  • To differentiate the cell divisions, Senescence, Necrosis and Apoptosis.
  • To explain Mendelian inheritance and their deviations.
  • To discuss multiple alleles, penetrance and X-linked inheritance.
  • To describe linkage, Non Mendelian inheritance, mitochondrial inheritance and cytoplasmic inheritance.
